What is Facelift?
A facelift is a cosmetic procedure that removes extra facial skin to make the face look healthier. It can be done to both men and women to create a more attractive appearance. Since it tightens the skin around the face, the facelift is also an ideal recovery choice if you have lost a significant amount of weight.
Factors such as sun exposure, ageing, and gravity may cause facial skin to lose its elasticity and wrinkle. These causes may induce skin deformation, make people seem older than they are and give them a sad and stressed appearance. Facial muscles loosen as well, resulting in a saggy form of look.
The ageing process is unique to each person. Many elements contribute to skin ageing, including air pollution, a fast-paced work schedule, and an idle lifestyle. The skin of people living in big, crowded cities is ageing faster and more severely as a result of these factors.
Genetic conditions play a huge role in skin ageing as well. A facelift, on the other hand, can solve this issue. At Clinicera, our cosmetic surgeons are experts in various plastic surgery types and we make sure that you get the best results possible.
Operation Process of Facelift
A typical facelift treatment begins with an incision in the hair or hairline and extends to the front of the ear (temporal region). The cut is extended downwards from the front of the ear, to under the ear, and then climbing up until the surgeons reach the hairline.
The fatty tissues and skin are then raised forward as much as necessary to fix the loose skin problem. If the surgeon believes it is necessary, the underlying fascia (connective tissue) and muscle can be stitched together.
After that, skin staples and stitches are used to join the edges of the cut. A typical facelift procedure lasts 4 to 6 hours and is done under general anaesthesia. During surgery, drains are inserted into the incisions and are removed after 24 hours.
After evaluating the patient’s skin and bone structure, fat tissue forms, and skin elasticity level, the procedure to use in facelift operations should be chosen. In Clinicera, you can discuss which method to use with our skilful surgeons. The forehead, eyelids, eyebrows, cheeks, and neck should all be treated for a complete facelift.
Facelift Post-Surgery Process
The stitches should recover within ten days, depending on the patient’s healing time, though minor swellings and bruises are possible to occur during the procedure. Patients will return to function within 15 days after surgery, and the final effects are usually seen after a year.
It is a smart idea to properly decide the timing of this treatment in order to have a smoother healing process. Since the healing period is rather long, patients frequently take a couple of weeks off work. It usually takes two to four weeks for most people to completely recover from this operation. For the first two weeks after surgery, patients should expect noticeable bruises and swelling.
